So nice to meet you. My name is Sasha Crowley. I started my career in the classroom as a high school English teacher (for nine years) before making the transition to online higher education as an Instructional Designer four years ago. While I do miss my students and teaching literature, I have loved the rigor and challenge of working in higher ed. Collaborating with faculty to push the boundaries of innovation, while addressing the needs of adult learners, has been inspiring and rewarding.
As an Instructional Designer, I have a passion for authentic learning and implementing best practices for intentional course design. As a result, I stay current with educational technology and seek out opportunities to elevate my skill set. I am well-versed in Quality Matters, completing both the Applying the Quality Matters Rubric course and Peer Reviewer course. I presented at the Online Learning Consortium Conference on best practices for collaborating with faculty to review courses (for quality assurance). I also presented at the Lilly Conference on Evidence Based Teaching and Learning on best practices for integrating free technology in course design.
I graduated Suma Cum Laude from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA with a Bachelor of Arts in English, where I also played Women's Varsity Softball all four years. I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching and Single Subject Credential in English from the University of California, Irvine. In addition to a Clear Single Subject Credential (California), I also hold a Clear Multiple Subject Credential (California) from the University of California, San Diego. Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and kids (I have a son and a daughter), whether we are being adventurous or just hanging out at home. I also love curling up with a good book.
I'm thrilled to be working with the Babb Group and am looking forward to partnering with faculty to produce cutting edge courses that meet the needs of your learners.
