Instructional Designer

I am Sharon, and I am an online learning consultant, instructional designer, and academic writer. My latest efforts explore servant leadership, online education, and organizational behavior. I teach online education courses, Instructional Design classes, MBA courses, leadership studies, and organizational theory. I have designed over online 50 courses. I enjoy creating courses that engage students through effective dialogue while empowering students to be curious researchers. My top priority is to develop courses that enable students to advance in their professional roles. I strive to design courses that I would want to take.

With over 20 years of experience in education and businesses as an Instructional Design Consultant, I come with a rich skill set. I am an avid technologist. I have worked with over a dozen Learning Management Systems and have even made alterations to augment out-of-the-box functionality. I am married to a software engineer, so we live and breathe technology.

Educationally, I earned both my Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, English, and Political Science and my Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in School Administration from Whitworth University. My doctorate is in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University (#UnitedWeZag). I am passionate about learning!

My husband and I live with our two cats, Maya and Priscilla. When I am not sitting in front of my computer, which is rare these days, I am an enthusiastic cook. I focus on creating and cooking healthy recipes that nourish the body and engage the palette, which are the same processes I use in my instructional design practice – nourish the mind and engage the learner.
